Catalyst HP

Reliability wise the Liberty 600 VES is one of the best from anyone. Basically the same for almost 20 years when it came out with carbs. Even modified to a 660 proved to be a very solid motor.

Hey now.  I put 3 sets of pistons in my 660...

...never because of failure though, but each time when it hit 7k or so miles it got fresh pistons and bearings.  If it weren't for trails like they have up North I may have just kept it.

I your opinion, what makes it the best by far?

It's green.  Have you met jimwit?

Yet the same 146 Catalyst weighs less than the assault. Talk about massive failure. Next!

The Assault will be quicker.  Not commenting on handling, but if the Catalyst is anywhere near the Assault on allowing so much off trail fun with such calm trail manners it'll be a winner.  So far though Cat is really far behind in that category of sled.

Ok. I don't know where you ride, but HERE, you are lucky to get to 70 before massive braking will be necessary, or you will be in the rhubarb. Most rides, a 600 is more than needed.

But you said you fall off any time you get over 15MPH..

Explains the confusion on the next comment.

Oh, I challenge that one pretty much every time I ride in your area.

Yep, where he lives you can ride balls out a lot.  Hell Thief River is the only county in MN without a lake.  Tells you what the trails will be like.  Norman county is not exactly there but there are a shit ton of similar trails where averaging 80+ is not hard.

cant help but wonder if the cost of these sleds/engines now a days, if there isn't more of a conservative approach toward the engine side of it due to cutting back on warrenty claims?  It sounds like Textron would be maybe hardpressed to survive a huge payout issue in the state they're currently in.

the simple solution is bolting a big bore kit on a 500 in a lightweight race chassis... (cough) :roflcrying:

That's really too bad...

No it's not. I used to go to the UP. Was fun but now I prefer to actually see the scenery. Age changes what is important.

That's all fine and dandy for you and there's nothing wrong with it.

Just stop preaching that it is the ONLY way to ride.

Some of us prefer a different experience, and that should be OK with you too.

Never said that once. I did say that most of you can't handle anything bigger than a 400, but your inadequacies make you buy something that you will never get the most out of it.

So you assume nobody here has the skills to ride faster than you?

What makes you believe that? Kinda silly don't you think?

BTW: CAT SUCKS :lmao:

It’s like you can’t comprehend what people say, and can only respond to what you feel that they said.

You should really stick with 30 year old sleds that sucked when they were new.

After crashing an under powered turbo doo on the tight twisty hilly terrain of Southern Manitoba Zr600RR may be spot on with you. Stick to the antiques :bc:

Having three manu's is better than two.

Ride what you will.

Yeah a 600 doesn’t have enough zazz for me even in the twisties

doubt a 650 with 6 more hp would do it either
