between an equally equipped doo and poo

maybe I'm shooting a bit over the actual retail price Mr Barker but for 2024 MY in comparable big bump big bores...

850 Doo XRS 137 1.25 w/gauge and std shocks - $18,149

840 XCR 136 1.25 w/PUDD - $18,398

850 RAVE with gauge - $20,449

add inflation and increased labor and materials... we're looking at $20k+ sleds, imo.

BRP seems to have a lot of FU$ to throw at racing the past few years... maybe because they sell so many sleds?  No race sleds XC or SX were shown at HD to my knowledge?  :dunno:

Cat has ZH312, the TH68 of XC racing.  Guess we'll see how much better (more competitive) this new buggy is by seeing the results of everyone else beneath his caliber this winter.

Rumor has it the availability of RXCs for 'racers' is bleak which seems like an odd business decision for a company that wants to be competitive.  No word on the SX side and I'll be less than shocked if their back on the 2018 chassis again.

How about that big bore though?

:)

Textron is going to manufacture what actually sells. They are in the business to make money. Supporting a dying venue like sno-x which barely scrapes together enough entries to host a pro class isn’t the road that leads to financial success for Cat.

Nobody gives a shit about sno-x.

Well it's about f'ing time (and they still won't be doing that for over a year!).  They're only about 5 years late to the party.

Yet the difference is Cat will make it reliable. Cant say that about Poo.

So, Cat does the absolute bare minimum at Hay Days to catch up to Ski-Doo and Polaris.

What exactly did they do to differentiate themselves and gain marketshare?

At least they put themselves in a position where people will at least take an apples to apples look at what they have to offer.

Unfortunately, the new Cat big bore will never be top dog in the 800 class '25. Both Polaris and Ski-Doo will come out with bigger iron this spring to take a shit on Cat's latest offering...... And in '25, Cat will again be on the bottom....

A reliable motor. No one is coming out with bigger engines. Certification is very expensive. You need to pay for tooling before you advance.  Typical DUMB FUCK RESONANCE from a total fucktard.

BRP does, but they have FU$ from selling so many gdamn sleds, and I don't even like BRP products.

Maybe if the powerplant had Suzuki''s name on it.  I wouldn't be so confident, given Cat's woes when not being able to borrow EPA credits any longer.  We'll see ... in 2025 :news:

Speculation. Cat's 800 had early reliability issues, but you denied that as well.

"No one is coming out with bigger engines." NOW, that is a stupid assumption. Do you actually think Ski-Doo and Polaris are going to allow Cat's 858 to be the largest engine in that market segment? How much glue to you huff nightly?

Jim- do you even believe your own bullshit? When you type this stuff out, do you think to yourself "That will convince them....."

Why would you give Suzuki so much credit to build a modern EPA compliant motor?  They never did during the cat partnership.

Oh yeah because you're just looking to be negative towards cat in any way possible.  Got it.  Carry on with the hate.

You also obviously don't understand how the cat/Suzuki partnership went.  Suzuki manufactured the engines but the design was a direct partnership/colab with cat engineers.

Sorry, but Cats reliability compared to poo is just to easy to prove.
