  • So, to summarize: We now will have the new chassis that was never needed with a more ergonomic riding position and a substantial diet that was never needed, the new big bore that was never needed

  • First catalyst came in, fit and finish is very good, (thank god after what the prototypes looked like).

gonna have to ask the site moron that..

@ZR6000RR you're going to have to explain this to him.

Wasn't he at one time an Artic engineer, then a tech writer, then an engineer tech, how did he slip all the way to a sign holder on a road crew? No wonder he's so angry..😂

Why is an 858 considered an 870 instead of 860?

when chunks of the piston come off the volume increases

;)

Piston chunks are for amateurs.

I don’t think it’s a HUGE disappointment IF they make the 178-180hp they’re supposed to and run well/reliably. No turbo is a kick in the balls for the mountain guys again but at least they have a big stupid gauge now.

Did Cat say WHEN the new engine is available?  Is it strictly going to be for Snowcheck next Spring?  Or are they going to do a limited mid-season release?

They didn’t say in the livestream, they said the gauge would be out for snowcheck models but nothing explicit on the motor.

Anyone have time to find, or take pics of the exhaust valve system?

Deep dive coming kROMMER. Take a breath and put down the glock. Life will get better for you.

Got one!

New valve design looks very coo! I imagine it will provide a responsive experience with broad power delivery.

Cat says:

Push & Pull design

250% greater port height change

auxiliary port can grow 33% taller

roof of port remains smooth

valve remains tight to piston at all times

Spring. I asked them if I could buy one to ride this winter and they said no.

With them stroking the engine to get the extra 58cc I wonder if they have a 650 class sled coming now?

Not happening.

yup, but the 840 poo never stopped blowing up

This thread is discussing the new Cat 2 stroke big bore not Poo or Doo. I expected you to be the first to spin and deflect. Classic You took the bait hook line and sinker. LMFAO  By the way Poo and Doo both have turbo charged 850 ish's and Poo a 900. That still puts Cat behind. You have a great evening.

I guess garmin will swap onto the 2024. I bet dealers will sell a shit ton of retrofit kits

That is what I was told. Rumor wise. Off 12 CC's. No one I ride with cares about gauges. We ride, not watch videos.

For 24 grand, I would not touch a 2 stroke turbo.

He wouldn't want that though.  He can't swap it on the fly to other machines.  Also, he doesn't need an 8" screen because at the speeds he rides there is no trouble seeing single digits.
