If you are use to flat water boating or flat land snowmobiling I doubt a liar makes much difference. But if you are going to hit class V then someone lying about their experience/ abilities makes a difference. I'm sure it is the same with people who head back country on their mountain sleds. Some bullshit artist claims to have experience and all the proper gear but turns out to be a skidooski, Dave or Zambo and you've got problems.
