2024 Arctic Cat Catalyst 'Chassis' details?

the debris was the minor concern - the major was the amount of cutting on the edges to the point where in some spots cords are showing.

having 1300 miles on a tki belt drive on flat land speedwerx built 800 I saw no wear or cutting at all.

Could it be a machining flaw on one of the pulleys? Just for another thing to look at quick if you can’t find anything else.

I figured since I have time I will go over them and check , pull the belt off check alignment look for any dings/scrapes that could be causing the problem. I am sure its something stupid that caused it. I wish it had a traditional tensioner setup vs eccentric but im sure theres a reason for it.

I honestly haven't dug into it yet. I got out in the garage and was going over things and noticed it. I figure tonight I'll have the time to actually go over it - I also have a master cylinder leak somewhere that's dripping on my side panel.

I know the 312 machine had issues with the lower pulley coming loose to the point that they are green loctiting it. so that was my first step to check - if the pulled backed off it could be rubbing on the face of the upper pulley. There is an aftermarket company that is working on a fix for the lower pulley right now.

That's where I was clearly in the wrong , I exceeded 1/4 throttle lol.

isn't that what they were holding the 2019 Polaris 850 crank bearing in with?

see, 0wnEr ab00sE... :cop:

I’m still working on it. Have more parts to clean and get sprayed then need to get the skid out and rebuilt. I did get the vinyl numbers to match Dad/grandpas 76 and have a line on the ngk and the ussa stickers so I can reproduce them. Over the summer speedwerx is going to reproduce the 340 oem pipes for me and muffler (ouch)

Also to add to the catalyst nonsense - to quote the AC engineer I know and trust - “that’s alarming” in regards to the cords. So the gravel engineer is wrong yet again.

I have a new belt in route and I’m going to go through the belt drive tomorrow.

Can you prove it will? No. Those little frayed cords look like any belt I have seen.  I work during the day. Also have common sense.

100 miles.  That would take you 10 hours of so.
