I’m in the super minority here but thankfully the majority of Americans agree with me.

Americans see threat to democracy as No. 1 issue, support Trump probe, poll finds

The growing threat to democracy is the most important issue facing the country, according to a new poll that also found strong support for continued investigations into the actions of former President Donald Trump.

An NBC News poll conducted earlier this month and released Sunday found 57% of respondents agreed that investigations into potential wrongdoing by Trump should carry on. That included 92% of Democrats and 61% of independents, but only 21% of Republicans.

Half of those polled said Trump was solely or mainly responsible for the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection, a five-percentage-point gain since a similar poll in May, before the House Jan. 6 committee began its series of public hearings.

Meanwhile, “threats to democracy” rose to the No. 1 issue facing America, topping “cost of living.” In a similar poll in May, “cost of living” was the No. 1 concern, while “threats to democracy” did not make the list.

It’s the new dem slogan. Whitmer said it yesterday as well, although she was talking about the governor gig in Michigan. That guy she’s running against is also a “threat to democracy”.

Looks like MC got his marching orders too.

Go ahead and believe those polls and think you are with the majority, the working people in America are absolutely concerned about the rising cost of everything and how it is impacting them, the increasing interest rates, the fact that shelves in stores are bare of many items.  Nobody that I know (Democrats or Republicans) talk about Jan 6th and the "threat to democracy" as an issue.

More want a republican controlled congress.

+10% feel the recently passed bill is a piece of shit.

41 to 27% feel the Jan 6 committee is trash.

50 to 26% feel the worst is yet to come.

2 to 1 the respondents were not blue collar workers.

The Dems are the one destroying it but because they don't want morons like MC to know that (because, like him, some are incapable of seeing it themselves) they blame and tell the morons it is the Republican's that are doing it.

The Patriot Act, Edward Snowden's revelations, Julian Assange and WikiLeaks, politicians being caught using government institutions to target opponents, the FBI being caught continually throughout it's history abusing it's power for political means, a media that consistently lies for profita and the list goes on and on....

But Donald Trump is all of a sudden the threat to democracy? :flush:

The media and it's constant lying to the American people is a far bigger threat to our democracy than any brown person in a desert cave or Donald Trump could ever hope to be

More from MCs poll... seems he did quite a job of cherry picking...

Nearly three-quarters of voters in a new poll said they believed things in the U.S. were headed in the wrong direction.

An NBC News poll revealed just 21 percent of voters feel the nation is headed in the right direction, while 74 percent think the opposite.

Over half of respondents, or 58 percent, said they feel "more worried that America's best years may already be behind us," while 35 percent feel more confident the best years are still ahead.

About a third of respondents, or 34 percent, said they think the state of the nation will worsen over the next five years. Just two percent more, or 36 percent, said they think things will get better in that same time period, and 21 percent said they think things will stay the same.

This is certainly far more truthful. Poor MC, nobody gives a shit about J6 except dishonest Dumbocrats who simply want to try and use it to distract from their obvious failures.

Does everyone forget that Trump asked Pence to nullify the electoral votes on January 6th? Unconstitutionally, first time in our nations history? Does anyone here have an understanding of what that means? For the first time in history we could have been in a position where we didn’t have a peaceful transition of power in a democratically elected country, and all you can think about is what’s right in front of you?  The stability of our democracy or temporary gas prices, hmmm, what could possibly be more important.

The shortsightedness and inability to grasp the severity of what nullifying a presidential election means is astounding.
