Company offered a 7% wage increase provided I stay on another 6 months. 2% increase now and the remaining 5% in the form of a bonus at the end of 6 months. My last day is still the 15th. Crazy wages. The local Panda Express is paying $23/hr to start. For fucking fast food.

Hey Loser-Fag, guess how much I've made so far this year!! LMMFAO!!

Sucks to be you!!!!    BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Less than everyone else that posted in this thread.  Just because you are keeping up with inflation isn't growing you wee little accounts enough so that you can afford fresh cotton for your nostrils to compensate for your inability to pay for a $36 respirator....even funnier considering how useless both the respirator and cotton stuffing is.

For the record.......I hate both Biden and Trump equally.

Amusingly the left view Trump and the right view Biden like the forum views you.

Inflation is seriously out of control.  Some wages are up, but only those for jobs that people don't want for whatever reason.  Jobs people do are nowhere near climbing with inflation.  Situation is a serious shit show.

How the economy doing?

The October inflation report might spell doom for what's left of Biden's agenda

The latest news on inflation is bad: Consumer prices were up in October by 6.2 percent over a year ago, so high that American workers are losing ground despite recent wage gains. That's grim news for Democrats who have lately been feeling the wrath of voters — but also because it might stymie their efforts to pass the "Build Back Better" social welfare bill.

Passing that bill, of course, relies on the good graces of Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.). And while Manchin has been negotiating with his fellow Democrats to get that bill down to a size and shape that both sides find acceptable, he has long signaled his ambivalence about passing anything at all.

His stated reason: Inflation.

Manchin has been making the case for months that the government has already overheated the economy with its spending on pandemic-era safety net efforts like stimulus checks, unemployment, and other big-ticket items. In September, he called for a "strategic pause" on passing any more major spending bills instead of "rushing to spend trillions" and possibly making the problem worse.

After the latest inflation report was released Tuesday morning, Manchin was feeling some vindication. "By all accounts, the threat posed by record inflation to the American people is not 'transitory' and is instead getting worse," the senator tweeted. "From the grocery store to the gas pump, Americans know the inflation tax is real and D.C. can no longer ignore the economic pain Americans feel every day."

That's not a direct threat to kill the BBB bill, but it is a strong hint that Manchin isn't in any real hurry to get the job done.

The problem with Manchin's position, though, is that it's not clear that slowing government spending will put much of a dent in inflation, which is driven to some extent by the now-legendary supply chain snarls. One example: Vehicle prices have skyrocketed in the last year — nearly 10 percent for new cars and more than 25 percent for used autos. But those prices are driven by a shortage in computer chips. How will, say, killing the proposal for paid family leave help that situation?

Moreover, the rise in inflation doesn't suddenly mean Americans no longer need what's in the BBB bill — things like childcare assistance and an extension of child tax credit payments, climate change mitigation, Medicaid expansion, and affordable housing. For many families, inflation will make their needs for such help even more insistent. It shouldn't be an excuse to kill off what's left of President Biden's agenda.

Consumer prices surge by most in 31 years

Prices rose 6.2% year over year in October

Inflation won't 'get better until it gets worse': Expert

CFRA chief investment strategist Sam Stovall argues consumer prices will peak in January 2022.

U.S. consumer prices accelerated at the fastest annual pace in more than 30 years as supply chain bottlenecks and materials shortages persisted and gasoline prices surged.

The consumer price index climbed 6.2% year over year in October, the Labor Department said. The increase marked the largest annual gain since November 1990. Prices rose 0.9% month over month.

Analysts surveyed by Refinitiv were expecting prices to rise 0.6% in October and 5.8% annually.

"Inflation is broadening out," said Greg McBride, chief financial analyst at Bankrate. "In addition to food, energy, and shelter continuing to post outsized monthly increases, new and used car prices are once again shifting into overdrive."

INFLATION WILL LIKELY GET WORSE BEFORE IT STARTS IMPROVING, GOLDMAN WARNS

Energy prices jumped 4.8% last month, and were up 30% over the past year. The October increase was largely the result of a 6.1% rise in the cost of gasoline.

Food prices, meanwhile, edged up 0.9% last month as the food at home category saw a 1% increase. All food prices are up 5.3% year over year.

Core prices, which exclude food and energy, increased 0.6% month over month and 4.6% over the past 12 months. Economists were expecting respective increases of 0.4% and 4.3%.

Also contributing to the rise were new and used vehicle prices, which in October rose 1.4% and 2.5%, respectively. Prices for new vehicles were 9.8% above year-ago levels while used vehicle prices were up 26.4% from October 2020.

The cost of shelter ticked up 0.5% last month and was 3.5% above year-ago levels.

"We’re seeing early signs of an inflationary surge that’s likely to persist, with companies responding to rising input costs with cost increases of their own, which in turn causes higher input costs for others," said Brad Armstrong, partner at Lovell Minnick Partners. "It’s a cycle that repeats itself."

CA is doing his dirty work binding up the ports so they can "FIX" them with a much needed infrastructure bill .

Is it going to be like opera in CA now? you get a new truck you get a new truck you get a union card you get a new truck and a union card . And you the great oracle of Omaha You get new tracks and a fleet of locomotives that you don't need . Oh and a few 1000 new  tanker cars for that other promise fulfilled

You know, maybe the leaders should all go to a climate change summit.  You know, the very democrats and liberals that this inflation will not effect.

Are you starting to understand why they don't care if it gets fixed yet?

Inflation (regardless of cause) doesn’t help win elections, so they better care.

Actually not a bad article.  However, it's got some flaws.  Certain major price inclines hurt many.  Basic staples are up considerably.  And cars and trucks from the 80k new lot queen down to what once was a $1000 beater are now out of range for most.  The ones suffering, and the ones that always do are the working class and those that fight to stay in the brink of poverty range.

We're headed for trouble....and the captain at the wheel (and his crew) are drunk and inept.  That is, if you can even find them at all....

They already have you programmed to think it is because of the pandemic.

And you've been programmed to only look domestically and not globally. All I know is Biden's to blame for inflation and supply chain issues here in the US, not so sure about every other country facing the same issues but I know they can't be related. o.O
