Ya, not too bad for damage. A couple of car ports torn in half and some tin roofs missing a section here and there. The hall for the park took some roof damage and that pool n turn flooded the kitchen and rec room area. Waiting for a contractor to fix this which is upsetting the elders of the park considerably. Lol Over all it was minimal here at Lakeland. We ran down to Key West yesterday and back today. I’ll see if the old lady put some pics up from the ride on her FB. Platinum Contributing Member Blackstar Posted December 2, 2017 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted December 2, 2017 some pics from our ride down to Key West. The hurricane damage is hit and miss. There is debris pile along the side of the highway in the sections that were hit hardest. From the south side of Key Largo to just south of Marathon took the bulk of the damage. There are some huge piles of debris along the side of the highway or in the odd closed business. These piles contain everything and anything. Boats, golf carts, fridges, freezers, RV’s, tree limbs, siding, bricks, sand, etc. All piled up waiting for removal. The piles stink of rotting garbage. Some lots are stripped bare. But I’d say 85% of things are back to some form of normal. In Key West there is little evidence left that a hurricane went through. The odd repair is going on here and there but for the most part it’s back to 98% normal. We talked to our waiter a bit and he said Key West saw very little impact from the hurricane. The eye passed directly over it so they never saw the big blast that areas a bit farther away got. All along the highway there was clean up going on. Lots of new trees being planted. I’m sure they have a target of Jan 1 to have as much done as possible before the snowbirds flock in.

Its a hopping spot even on a Thursday off season. Tons of restaurants, bars and shops to take your cash. Bring plenty....lol Fucking ATM’s all charge $4 or more a transaction. We stayed at Margaritaville. There are some a bit cheaper but it’s right where you want to be. Best sunset and a 2 minute walk puts you right where all the top bars are. Hard Rock, Sloppy Joes, Ricks, Senir Frogs, etc.

Captain Tony’s is on the side street just off Duval and we did check it out last night but it was dead. We ended up in Rick’s. A bit older crowd and just a one man band. Sloppy Joes was the hot spot. Plenty of drunk women so we moved on...lol
