Still waiting for you to list all the years the Iron Dog was dirt and mud. :news:

2015 was a great year of snow at the iron dog. Back when people bought sleds

900 more than me

I bet 900 more than a lot of folks, including me. Does starting the sled count for anything. It should for Poo folks if it doesn't blow up

:lol:Started mine twice so far ... and will be doing it again tomorrow when we load up for our U.P. departure.  I won't get 900 miles logged, but I'd be happy for a few hundred and getting the sled officially done with break-in.

My 2017 still hasnt blown up or caught fire. Guess I am one of the lucky ones..9_9

Rode a little so far. Hoping if the snow keeps up today and tmw get some miles in this weekend.

for those of you who can take time away from riding this winter....

something else to keep you occupied...

  • 2 weeks later...

FYI. With a rimmed gas tank the catalyst 600 trail sled is done at 10.2 gallons used. That’s where it stalls. Cats 9.9 gallon rating is pretty much spot on when yer done and getting the tow rope out.  I am sure someone will debate it. Mine ran out at the gas pump. It was bogging about 5 miles before the gas station. Was close to getting one of the gas cans off of my dad’s sled so I didn’t have to use a tow rope

maybe haul a gas can in your fancy rack on the tunnel instead of a case of Busch Light?  💡

Don’t need to when the sled dies at the gas pump. That’s what I call perfect planning

Noted: (a) not the lightest in class. (b) rear skid doesn’t compare to 2011 R-motion. (c) handles like shit in set up snow

Noted, dude doesn't own a sled and could only dream of touching a catalyst

That's a sharp looking sled.

Is there something a bit strange about the steering system? In the video, it looks like the handlebars are cranked to the left and then to the right, but the skis don't seem to turn at the same rate/angle as the handlebars do. Maybe it's just the camera angle in the video.

Check at the 5:00 mark.

It is a progressive steering ratio.  The 2014 and older race sleds had it.
