Another vote for stock cat skis actually being very good. Shapers are good but now you can buy Woodys mavericks that are the same thing but last more than one road crossing.

All three of our 500 sno pro's ski alignment was really bad.  The one I bought new, even the handlebars were crooked as the sled attempted to do it's best to stay going straight on a trail.  As soon as I got that sorted out, it handled and turned fine.

I wonder how many people bitch about ski quality, and all in all, it's just bad alignment?

The last time I gave the stock Cat ski a chance was when I got my 998 turbo. Threw some Stud Boy shapers on there and sent it. That setup is good in very specific trail conditions only imo..they're just not a versatile ski. Mashed potatoes or fluff? Forget about it.

Put Mohawks on with a shaper and it was huge how much harder you could hustle that pig through the corners in any condition.

there's a set on the 21 RXC with C&A's that are getting taken off, replaced with Woody's executives and promptly thrown in the trash... as soon as I get it out of storage.   but, some seem to love them.

My 600 is giving 858s and 850 Polaris’s fits corner to corner right now. Even in the few field trails.

Mine was giving stock skidoo 850s everything they could handle on wide open trails last weekend. I would say mine runs about as good as a stock 850 now. On a lake drag race a 850 will probably be a little faster.

They were equal body size as me so it was a good test. They kept asking if my sled was actually a 600. Doing a 70 mph stomp down with my cousin’s 800 etech earlier this season we were right next to each other all the way to top end. Last year that sled killed mine over 70. I have seen a substantial improvement over stock. 

My sled is getting closer to the junk yard lol. Needs a track after this season.

I was told the steering is fine and I was lieing about it coming loose last year.

On the topic of steering, I can say the an arms are stronger than Polaris’s. I’ve been wondering how all these idiots are ripping snowflaps off the catalysts until I did it today. Thing was ripped off and under the sled before I even knew it got sucked in.

Did 180 miles today on literally every type of trail. Tried to cut over 8 miles of a goat path trail nobody rides much, but it’s a good connector to really good trails. We were first tracks since their last snow, got a little over half way found 4 giant trees down and no reasonable way around. Turned around, I ripped my flap off. Got about 1/2 mile back and my buddy popped a washout just right to break the an arm on his Polaris at opposite corner welds. We got her rigged up pretty sweet and made it the 15 or so miles back to where we could get it on the truck but not before his wife stuffed another washout going slow and whacked the bars and cracked a rib. Probably not gonna use they cutoff trail for a while.

You have to watch the flap. I almost ripped that fucker off getting it out of the truck when I brought it home from the dealer when new

This was in a foot of packed ish snow with 10” of fluff on top of it. I looked at it and said “this must be how people rip them off” then did it anyhow because I’m a moron.

what’s the difference of throwing it out of the back of a truck or jumping it 4 feet in the air? There isn’t. The suspension does the same thing.

You know, back in 06 Matt’s dad took us on an expedition that sounds identical to this one.  Somewheres not far from cedar pines.  JHC I thought we’d be carrying 3 sleds back out on foot one piece at a time.  Fricken maniac.
