Tesla has also switched some their vehicle to LifePo4 batteries. They have lifespans of up to 5,000 charge cycles before output drops to 75%. That's almost 14 years of daily charging. All you are doing is shifting where your money is spent. The reason the auto companies want ev is they will have one drive system across the board.
