GM, Ford Poised to Eat Tesla's Lunch Over Next Four Years

With so many new and excellent EVs going into production, Tesla's share of the electric vehicle market will plummet over the next four years, and it is General Motors and Ford who are poised to eat most of Tesla's lunch, a new report says. Tesla has held about 70 percent of the EV market share in recent years. That is forecast to drop to a mere 11 percent over the next four years, says John Murphy, the Bank of America analyst behind the annual Car Wars report that looks at the auto industry and predicts which companies are on a winning path and which are not.

There's been a lot of EV start ups that have come and gone already. Most out of China but I'd like to see Tesla continue to develop and not get pushed out. That being said, all I see is EV's coming from GM and Ford as far as my workload for the future.

Doesn't that describe any party though?

Yep.  The man has done more to make green technology mainstream than any human in history, and to them, he's the fucking devil incarnate...

A few donations here and there and a change of opinion all would be forgiven easily.

Tesla missed the full size truck and suv market.

 EV trucks are in their infancy. He's got enough orders for three years production of the Cyber truck and is taking orders on the Semi truck

Now we can see why the democrats dont pay any mind to Tesla. All of that union money from the guys trying to catch up to the start up company that is barely 20 years old and already dwarfs them in market cap

GM and Ford are a far cry from the behemoths they once were.   Without trucks they would have a market cap 1/10th what they have now and Tesla based off a variety of economic indicators is extremely overvalued.

That is crazy with the world presence they have too. They've known their goose was getting cooked by Tesla for years. There has been lots of manipulation with Tesla stock over the years.

gm is building bigger ev and has nothing but shit up to this point. go ahead, buy that 116k , 9000lb hummer. let them do some more learning at your expense. and before long there will be no one to fix them anyway. gm said a few years ago "cars are dead". no, your cars are dead because they are garbage. that's what no one wants

Tesla has about 4% of the US market but its market cap is around 15 x's what GM and Ford's are.  Crazy.   Ford sells more F150's than Tesla's total vehicle sales in the US.

Tesla around 1 million worldwide, Ford 3.9 million and GM 6.3 million.   Insane what Tesla is worth.

Tesla stock price is still way over valued. But for the EV market the big 3 have a ways to go still. Their biggest obstacle is that union boat anchor they have around their necks. Tesla doesnt have that... yet. If Tesla stays in the forefront with robotics the others will be fucked. Ive worked in several auto assembly plants, working on the line is mindless work and their is boat loads of drama.

No doubt union/legacy costs hold Ford and GM back.   With my business I'm well aware of the drama....assembly line is the worst by far as well.  The grade school cliqueness is about as much as one can take some days.

Ive seen plenty of it working there but one of my kid's friends dad works in the paint booth at Ford and they try to get him to work as many hours as he is willing to do simply because he isnt such an HR problem for them. But he says he is burnt out from it, he wants to quit LOL

You can't really use the market cap alone to compare the value of a company.  Everyone makes that mistake.

Either way, Tesla lost more in enterprise value from March to today than GM and Ford are worth total combined.  I guess the market doesn't agree with Motortrend.  Do you believe the millions of investors or Motortrend?

Enterprise value:
Tesla $769 billion, was $1.11 trillion in March.

GM $131 billion

Ford $142 billion

I wouldn't bet against Tesla.  Any company that can take on the world without spending any money at all on marketing is going to put up a fight.

15 Lessons to Learn from Tesla’s Marketing Strategy

3.  "Every year, in the auto industry alone, billions of dollars are spent on advertising alone. But Tesla spends $0 on ads."

Another one of Musk's ventures:  SpaceX doesn't seem to have a problem making Boeing look like imbeciles.

Tesla will face all the  design challenges + quality control issues as the Big 3 did, while  they arrogantly sat back loosing market share, year after

America doesn't have much dominance in the car world...

Toyota Nissan,Honda,  Volkswagen,  Kia, Hyundai, Audi and the other hi end smaller corporations will continue building hi quality cars in their existing manufacturing plants, constantly straining a fledgling company,  not known for making a profit until recently.

Economies of scale will ultimately put  Tesla in the rear view mirror...

Battery Technology  is Tesla's strength....somebody will acquire that + explode their market share!

Twitter can only drag Tesla down faster...

Your weaknesses are your strengths
