i am considering being a collection agent as side work.

I have a  nd who has been in that biz for over 25 yrs they don't drive shit . he has 2 f350s with under bed in cab deployable wheel  lift deals . they back up to a parked car deploy lift thing it pushes under f or rear tires and lifts . if not a sketch screen they strap down there is sketchy they drive down the street and then secure .

he dose ok but says he makes more out of his impond lot . that is all cops calling for getting a car off the road and apartment plow contracts  flat bed work .

not a very good biz to be in if you don't like to be yelled at or deal with sob storys every day .

and not sure with your record you can be licenced insured and bonded  to do it in most states unless you are on a deferment deal where they are dropping from a felony to a mist after probation

when I was in my early 20s a buds dad owned one of those lots . he would also give a few of us cars to drive and sell at the same time . pretty much drive a  car away from auction ckean it up and pay to list it and sell it on open market pick up another over and over. not a bad deal free car and 1/2  the cash for anything over stated amount for said car . all high mi or fishy mi relatively newer cars . I went with a few times to grab cars that people owed cash on . they always knew because they were almost always parked away from work or the apartment.  would have to sit and follow them from work or home to where they park again . always a deal where his old man had the keys . 80% of the time they were back in the dealer with in 2 days paying back pay repo  fee and penalty.  just fucking crazy almost every car sold that way was a pos and the down payment was the cost or close to what the pos cost at auction . his old man did that shit for about 5 yrs and was over it

My office manager worked at a BHPH dealer and always wanted me to set up BHPH for her to manage. I said NFW as the sob stories you get from people not able to pay a service bill is bad enough. If I were younger maybe. Getting to old to chase and no matter what the dealer is always the bad guy.

that's what Nutter did. Remember him posting pics of nice Bentleys. Porsche, etc he had to snag.

But as was said before he was licensed and bonded not some sleazy shitball doing it illegally.

The old trick of putting another car behind the one you were after was always a fail. We would just pull the car into the street and snatch the repo and leave the other car in the street. Then call the cops and tell em a car is blocking the street.

Best recovery..... went to pick up a 78 Vette that was a year old. Guy was said to keep it in his large garage behind the house. We knocked on the door and told him we were taking the car and asked for the keys. He say OK here’s the keys and the Vette is in the garage. He opens the door and the car is in pieces, just a bare frame no engine or trans, the rear clip was left. We just laughed and called the boss. He says pack up what’s left and bring it back to the yard. Boss says the look on the bank reps face when he saw it was priceless.

fuckin stories...lol

He has told me if he usually has a hard time getting a car, just follow it to a casino after pay day.
