More beating for AK

Derp! How slow are you on the uptake?  I posted that same article days ago.

Only you would be so stupid to believe the word of the company who’s employee killed the dogs. How fast is “appropriate speed” dipshit? That’s a statement that was worded by their lawyers and you completely fell for it!

You had to edit a 5 word sentence, how incompetent are you at typing words? :stoned:

Krom… the only person on earth who’s never watched some dude get hit by a car in a street take over vid.

https://www.TikTok.com/t/ZT8HbNrvY/

So WTF Krom? The dude got up and walked away. Did we just see a zombie? Was that his ghost?

Maybe quit drinking and smoking your brain cells away since Textron took over Cat and evidently destroyed your life.

None of this has anything to do with a dog being hit by a sled...  Not sure about you, but the average person's head is a good long ways from the point of impact with a car, or sled, while the dogs head is going to be the first thing hit, in an impact with a sled.

BTW there is almost a book worth of regulations automakers have to follow to make collisions with pedestrians safer for the pedestrian.  Exactly 0 for snowmobile dog collisions.

being hit at by a car at 10 mph does kill people

"So far, Rogers said the investigation has found the employee was following the company's safe riding protocols, including operating "at an appropriate speed.""

Yet some washer fluid guzzling bonehead on here insists that the POLARIS rider was speeding. I'm sure if the rider was not following protocol Polaris would not have been quoted as saying so. Would not look good out in the media. Take another slurp buddy

You are either really naive or stupid. I’m strongly betting on the latter. But let’s follow your logic on this. Your source of the quote, Jess Rogers the Polaris spokesman, uses an ambiguous term “appropriate speed”. What is an appropriate speed? How fast is an appropriate speed? You see what he did there? He made a statement that provided no meaningful information. He’s good at this because he’s a company spokesmen. When this goes to court, the musher’s lawyer will use any public statements Polaris makes about this incident against them. Jess Roger’s isn’t going to include a hard mph number in his statement because he knows it’ll be used against them. The Polaris legal team is going to hope they get a jury filled with dumbasses like yourself who don’t know the difference what they are being told.

Three dogs didn’t die getting hit by a sled going 5-20 mph. Excessive speed for the conditions on that public trail is what killed the dogs whether you like that fact or not. The Troopers haven’t concluded their investigation. When they find the Polaris factory rider at fault are you going to accuse them of being windshield washing fluid drinkers too?

So what you are saying is the dogs stood perfectly still like bowling pins, all their heads at front bumper level and got smacked like Whack-a-Moles?

Speaking of stupid wtf do you think the dogs did, stood up and put on helmets??

Jfc they are sled dogs they kept on pulling until the snowmobile hit them. With their heads at snowmobile level.

Jimwit… I mean Krom, were the dogs deaf, blind, stupid and totally lacking in reaction time and self preservation instincts? I’m trying to understand your scenario of a sled plodding along at 20 mph, or the “appropriate speed” per Polaris spokesman, and not a single dog tries to get out of the way? They are harnessed together but they have latitude to move to the side. Was the musher asleep? Wouldn’t he have yelled “haw” or “gee” to try swerve away from the snowmobile? Surely he would have heard the snowmobile coming long before it barreled into him on the trail. Particularly at the sedentary pace this you and others on this thread are so certain of.

It all seems rather odd that this sled, obviously going at a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade pace managed to kill three dogs. How do you figure it happened?

At the end of the day, those dogs have a mind of their own too.

The lead dog could have drifted in front of the test rider.

If said rider was doing say 30mph and the dog sled 15mph, that is still a net 45mph collision.

Really. These are Iditarod sled dogs that run all the way to Nome. They follow the same trail as the Iron Dog. This isn’t some Karen in the local park with two hyper labs pulling her all over hell’s half acre with no control.

You know what you do when you come up on a dog sled team on a multi use trail while riding a snowmobile. You fucking stop! Same trail etiquette you give equestrians on multi use trails when you are on your bike. This isn’t a hard concept. The Polaris rider was on the clock while he was “testing” he had all the time in the world to not be an inconsiderate asshole.

I continue to be amazed at the mentality of the so called riders on this site. Small wonder why riding areas continue to get shut down.

You are one stupid fuck stick. If said sled was speeding, or being ridden erratically,  or on the wrong side of the trail, or had some one on the handle bars, etc, don't you think the musher would have reported that to the police. And in the article the police said no charges were being laid. You best get on to the next bottle of washer fluid.

How could there be a hard mph number, was there radar out that night. Sounds like you must of been there with all the mis-information you are providing. Get where I'm going with this. You were not there so anything you glean from the articles is pure speculation

Excessive speed was not reported by the police, so it is NOT A FACT dumb ass. You make Jimwit look like a genius

So you've never heard of a dog getting hit by a car:mc:

dogs run into, and in front of cars, trucks, and other vehicles all the time.

According to the linked article, there are no posted speed limits on that trail.

The state-owned road is viewed more as a trail or public land than a highway once seasonal maintenance ends, so it’s not subject to laws governing roadway use during the winter, he said. Actions such as driving while intoxicated or reckless driving are still illegal, but there are no posted speed limits, he said.

Deflection is a tactic people use when they realize they lost their argument.

No he didn't say it was closed. But I am smart enough not to draw any conclusions on what actually happened. Wait for the facts. Try that approach, that's what normal people do, oh wait, never mind
