There are so many forces, unions, special interest groups, lobbies, that have a hand on the wheel. Anyone that gets elected can not course correct. Our system of governance is still very new in the grand scheme of things. Every other empire has fallen, before ours. We must think ourselves pretty special to believe it will work out.
