A turbocharger that forces zero additional air into the motor is nothing more than a muffler.

What skidoo did is called turbo normalized and only a complete faggot ass company would do such a thing.

Turbo normalizer.  :lmao:

I forget what the rear suspension was called, mine had 1 shock, and they later added a second one.  But mine barely moved, rode like a brick.

You're acting like Neal.  They did it for the mountain segment and it was the first production turbocharged 2 stroke.  I'd like to toss a brick through Ski Doos front window for some other reasons, but not that.

It is not turbocharged , that is a term that has a definition. It is turbo normalized meaning it never delivers more than 1 atmosphere of pressure or 1 bar into the engine. Turbocharged means air content above one atmosphere

Cat had a 91 or 92 Wilcat Efi and I believe was already awarded the patent.  Think Poo had to pay them royalties.

If I remember correctly didn't a guy try selling his design to Poo first and they passed but copied it and he sold the patent to Cat? Then Poo lost the lawsuit??

Wrong.   In the old chassis in 92 and new without the handlebar pod in 93.

Polaris had it in 91. Correct me if I'm wrong. 91 was before 92 wasn't it?

I know , who the fuck would take the time to do all that work and then deliver a sled with no additional power

So a Polaris NA loses 20% of its power at altitude and the Doo loses 0.  Thats who the fuck

Or the Polaris boost is 11% more power than the N.A. version at elevation and the faggot ass skidoo is 0% more power at elevation than the N.A. does at sea level

Man Gets $57 Million in Invention Lawsuit

L.A. TIMES ARCHIVES
FROM TIMES STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS

A mechanic who came up with an idea for a snowmobile fuel-injection system won a $57-million court award against companies he sued for stealing his invention. The federal jury ruling came after nine years of legal battles between Ron Chasteen and snowmobile maker Polaris Industries of Minneapolis and supplier Fuji Heavy Industries of Tokyo. At issue was a fuel-injection system for two-stroke snowmobile engines. The jury awarded $24 million in compensatory damages against Polaris, plus $10 million in punitive damages. Fuji was assessed $15 million in compensatory damages and $8 million in exemplary damages.

So in reality neither Cat nor Poo developed the first EFI sled,, one bought the tech and one stole it.

It's weird when you Google first oem efi snowmobile, cat isn't mentioned.

Which part? Doo still running trailing arm in 02 when Cat has wishbone in 95? Or Cat having an 800 EFI (ZR 800 EFI) years before Doo had SDI (04/05 SDI)?

Doo is a nice all around average machine. True 20 years ago, true today.

If Cat is the leader what have they brought in the past 7 years.  That is what is relevant now.  All they've brought they copied.  Not a leader.

I'm aware.  The question was who came out with the production turbocharged 2 stroke.  And that would be Ski Doo.  And their new turbo makes 180 hp.

And that would be incorrect because skidoos sled is not turbocharged , it is turbo normalized which is entirely different.
