I grew up modding and tinkering sleds.   I’ve lost count of how many hours I’ve spent out in a cold garage skinning my knuckles trying to make my shit faster. Now I just want to ride. And yes, if I wanted to mod a sled  for max power and top speed, I would go with a Yamaha for sure

Exactly. I am hoping to get some miles on like that next week in Quebec. I remember one weekend years ago we did 1300 miles in 4 1/2 days on my SRX, through Quebec and New Brunswick. It was glorious.

Same but with cars at an early age.

I have zero interest modding sleds, I buy them new, have them professionally serviced and keep them.

Just like cars, etc.

I don't service anything myself anymore.  That includes 5 cars, 4 sleds, 3 quads, 2 Jetskis, a Pontoon etc.

I'm pretty sure your point whizzed over their heads.

I know, they don't understand that my time would be quite preoccupied with that, and my time is more valuable.

Nevermind the properties I own.

My 2019 Indy came with leds.  I upgraded the 2020 XRS to LEDs as well.  Fucking scammers.

Another example of doo doing the bare minimum to get by

Not many people do as they get older.

Still do minor maintenance on the sleds - oil changes, replace wear items, etc.  Mainly because by the time I load the sleds, take them to the dealer and make another trip back to get them it's not much more time or effort.

The dealer I use now does not take appointments, it's drop it off and we will get to it when we can.  When asked about how long it would take to have routine maintenance on three sleds he said they were backed up with the Poo recalls.  It might be two or three weeks.

What's nice is for more than a decade that is all I have had to do.  Cannot remember the last time I had a warranty issue, let alone a major repair for a dealer.
