Remember he claimed that whether from the lab after gain of function had been performed it still "originally" came from nature so it shouldn't matter. He's skating around it saying the lab can't create it from scratch. No shit. Doesn't mean it was science that released it. Fauci, meanwhile, also objected to any suggestion – which Paul denied he was trying to imply – that he or the NIH may be in some way responsible for the COVID-19 virus, saying that the viruses created by the research in question would be "molecularly impossible" to be the origin of the disease. "You are implying that what we did was responsible for the deaths of individual, I totally resent that and if anybody is lying here, senator, it is you," Fauci said.
