Marine Corps vet who served in Iraq deported to El Salvador

Source: The Hill

BY ARIS FOLLEY - 10/23/19 07:12 PM EDT

Jose Segovia-Benitez, a 38-year-old Marine Corps combat veteran who served in Iraq, was deported to El Salvador — a country where he hasn’t lived since he was a toddler — on Wednesday.

Segovia-Benitez's attorney Roy Petty told the Phoenix New Times that he didn’t find out Segovia-Benitez had been deported until after he arrived for a planned meeting with his client at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Arizona where he was being held.

"Certainly, this is a surprise," he told the paper Wednesday. "ICE kept his deportation a secret. They kept it a secret from him, me, his other attorney, and they kept it a secret from his mother. It's not common practice."

“Generally, what ICE will do is they will notify the person so the person can make arrangements. They woke him up and put him on a plane,” he continued.

Your link left out several things MC, like stating his felony convictions..

Benitez was convicted of several felonies, including a domestic violence charge following an incident involving his then-girlfriend, assault with a deadly weapon, DUI and narcotics-related offenses, the Times reported. He served four years in prison and lost his legal status, meaning his Green Card was revoked, as a result of two aggravated felony convictions. He was taken into ICE custody in January 2018 and was transported to a facility in Adelanto, Calif., before he was moved to a detention center in Arizona.

Nope, it and you definitely left out why he was deported, convicted of multiple felonies, beats women,  has a lengthy criminal record, has spent years in prison..

Sound like a good person MC?? You are standing up for a woman beater now??

This would be like a guy claiming that he worked his ass off for a company and did well and made enough money to retire comfortably...... only to leave out that the company was owned by his brother in law who took care of him while he fucked off all day.  But the story is correct.....

Just some food for thought:

So the guy does two tours and gets discharged in 2004 a year after he has a brain injury, then comes home to a life of alcohol and crime, gets an 8 year prison sentance, and then gets diagnosed with PTSD in 2011. Obviously the man has some issues that were caused by his service to the US, there has to be something besides a deportation to country the guy left when he was a toddler.

Just because he served doesn't automatically make him a US citizen. Still have to do it properly.

Sorry that FACTS bother you Libturds.

If they couldn’t try to put this on a Trump’s admin, it wouldn’t even cross their “daily orders” board.

Had his entire life to become a citizen, did not bother. Then committed multiple felonies, spent eight years in prison, and finally got the boot. The law is the law, and there is no law saying that if you serve you get to be a criminal and not suffer the consequences of that.
