A big part of that was protecting them from frog attacks like the ones that happened today. It looks like a terrorist attack to me. The US isn’t going to put up all of there intel at some media briefing. If Iran did it,there would have been a retaliation strike before the briefing. It’s a lot more complicated than you think. You have to look at what the ship was carrying, where the load was going, who owns the Ship and who’s flag is flown on the ship. These attacks effect every port in the region. Shipping costs will go through the roof now. Some ships owners won’t allow their ships in the region and some won’t be able to get insurance to operate in the region. Who is funding these attack’s is the big question. I doubt it’s any country in the gulf with a shipping port. They only have one industry over there and that’s oil. It effects all of them if shipping gets disrupted. You could make a ton of money right now,if you were a SO diver doing hull inspections before they leave port. Back when I was over there, the only ships being attacked had Iraq oil in them or flying a Iraq or Kuwait flag.
