Gold Member BOHICA Posted May 7, 2019 Gold Member Share Posted May 7, 2019 Around 6 miles round trip to grocery store 0.0 gallons of gas... premium is $3.20 a gallon in my area. If I would have used the pickup it would have cost almost 1/2 gallon of gas used 2.4 kWh of electricity total. So around 20 cents of electricity consumed i can’t wait until they come with the f150 plugin hybrid next year.... give it a year and then buy and get the ev tax credit as well! trip to the grocery store. Sat in garage for awhile with the AC blasting setting up my profile in the car. Suspension settings, driving dynamics and such so this prolly use .3-.4 kwh. trip is back from grocery store

Ez ryder
I speed always. the worst avrage mpg on any of my fords is 15. and they 99% of the time have at least 509lbs on the bed

All motors run rich at startup and until normal operating temps. May not even get to run normal fuel mixture on short trips. My office is a little over a mile from my house. In the winter, my CTS can average as low as 14 mpg making that drive all week. On the road and up to normal operating temps, typically over 30. Platinum Contributing Member steve from amherst Posted May 9, 2019 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted May 9, 2019 Diesel-electric drive The best of two systems: our diesel-electric drive The world's first snow groomer with a diesel-electric drive impresses thanks to its performance figures, its cost-effectiveness and its low environmental impact. The high efficiency reduces fuel consumption and emissions of NOX and CO2 by 20 % in each case! In addition, 99 % fewer sooty particles are released into the environment. Highest power development at low engine speed The electric drive is not only highly effective, but also guarantees a consistently high torque. Thus, the power is immediate and can also be accessed at low engine speeds, which gives the PistenBully 600 E+ a completely new driving feel with unbelievable thrust from a standing start. High energy efficiency and energy recovery on the downhill rides The constant operation of the diesel engine in the optimum speed range makes it extremely efficient and economical. The intelligent energy management ensures that energy produced on the downhill rides flows directly back into the drive for the snow tiller. The 6-cylinder in-line engine from Mercedes-Benz has a capacity of 12.82 liters and delivers 295 kW (400 hp). It is supplemented by electric power units of two generators, drive motors and a tiller drive. The engine also as a turbocharger and intercooling with electronically controlled unit injectors. I'd love to have an ev as a second vehicle,..well maybe a 3rd, the 2nd would be a 69 GTO..haha Very cool how you can do some daily trips for pennies on the dollar.. You still have regular gas vehicles right??

You still have regular gas vehicles right?? Yes I have a raptor... it will be traded in on a plug-in hybrid Ford F-150. I’m hoping the f150 comes with 30-40 mile ev range. Before the ecoboost starts up. the EV my wife got is a Volvo XC60 t8.... 17-20 mile up to 80 mph on electric before the gas motor turns on. So not limited by electric range at all. Gold Member BOHICA Posted May 9, 2019 Author Gold Member Share Posted May 9, 2019 (edited) Went to Costco tonight... round trip it’s 29 miles... Used .4 gallons of gas for the entire trip. Used 9.4 kWhs of electricity. So about $1.50 in gas and 80 cents in in electricity. Even when I had my VW TDI that would be a gallon of diesel trip Edited May 9, 2019 by BOHICA
