”One off-season, Slats sent us all home with this fitness training package full of things we had to do, like doing fifty push-ups and fifty sit-ups and running two miles in under fourteen minutes. So one day slats called Semenk and said, ”You sound out of shape, Dave.” ”I’m fine,” Semenk said. ”I’m doing the training program like you said. The sit-ups and push-ups are OK, but I’m having a little trouble with the running part.” ”Uh-oh,” said Slats, ”is your knee acting up?” ”No, it’s not that,” Semenk said. ”It’s the wind. My cigarette keeps going out.”

Buddy of mine did something similar in his twin jet 21' sea-doo boat running up a river with 10 kids only 2 of which were his. Only went 40 ft up a nice smooth bank. He had to walk back to camp with all the kids who said it was the coolest ride ever. He got lucky.

ON THIS DAY in 1975, The CDB headlined the annual KSHE 95 - Real Rock Radio Kite Fly in St. Louis, MO where they performed for a crowd of over 80,000. Opening for the CDB was a little three-piece band from Canada called RUSH. - TeamCDB

Little did people know then that they were witnessing one of the greatest drummers to ever pick up sticks when Rush went on. What an awesome concert.

Sounds like one of those fly-by-night bands that never amounted to anything.

Actor James Garner was a genuine car and racing enthusiast, and competed himself. For a few years he headed the American International Racing (AIR) team which initially campaigned big block Corvettes before switching to Lola T70 MkIIIs. Check out the fleet!

NOT IN MY BACK YARD! Here is Colebrook's Claude Hebert edging out a Ski-doo in his home town race driving a Moto-ski for the local Moto-ski dealer there. Claude went on to race for Rockwell, Inc. out of Maine, New England's largest Moto-ski distributor. Hebert never looked back, as he then began working for Sno-jet & later on for Kawasaki. He helped develop the "Tournament of Champions" a series like IROC, where a dozen factory matched Invaders, were driven by the top factory & independent racers of the day to be Crowned as the Best of the Best. Claude was inducted into the ESRHOF in 2019.
