Zambroski
Mortgage debt isn’t the problem if the loans were granted properly. If anybody is in debt, it should be with their home. Assuming the debt was administered properly, this just means people are confident in the future to mortgage a home. I tried to type this in crayon for you Spinner but...it didn’t take.

Angry ginger
totally different mortgage market than the 00's although I will say I think we allow debt to income ratios a bit too high and are still unfairly beating the crap out of self employed borrowers. sure there is some speculation/flippers in the market but we are not lending to them with no skin in the game like the industry was in 04-07 1

1jkw
I don't see the mortgage debt as a problem, with the cost of houses these days it's bound to be up. When delinquencies and foreclosures are at record levels that's the time to worry.

teamgreen02
30 year rates under 4%, are we surprised mortgage debt and housing prices are up? The good thing is ~96% of them are current.
Anler
Only difference this time is the banks are ready for it. They have been unloading foreclosures pretty quickly.
