It is quite apparent this is retribution for the comments he made about Trump. Thus it's a personal vendetta, not a logistical one. I don't buy the argument that he was somehow entitled to, or needed to have a security clearance. In fact, its probably standard practice for any other lower level government employee to lose all access and clearances.
