Woodtick
My favorite spot near my camp. It's never tracked up. That's JD in the red, he pops down to ride out of my place from time to time. He did a write up on this area and posted a bunch of these pics. He said he was in Iron River.

And if it does get tracked up, our buddies family owns over 70,000 acres up there including lots of gated logging roads. Never a shortage of untracked fresh. Love it up there. Day trips off trailing in 5-6 ft., or rip untracked logging roads for hundreds of miles, or do a 2-3-400 mile loop. This year I plan on packing the bags, taking the 20 minute trip to the Quebec border, and do a 4-5 day loop. 17 minutes ago, f7ben said: You expect me to argue? Its not like I planned it..... Woodtick
The key to a good spot: no bars or hotels near by, miles from a trail, nasty drop ins that give custom pin stripes. This area is 5 miles from my camp in Iron River.

Plenty of flat open areas if I'm with trail guys. Nothing wrong with spending a weekend on logging roads. A lot less carnage.
Woodtick
I'm getting to old, well maybe to lazy for this shit.
