As I was coming up with it, a wind gust blew the van back door closed. I didn’t even see it coming. Looks like the corner of the door went into the hand. There were some contractors loading their truck buy me and saw it. They came over and grabbed the first aid kit out of the front of the truck. We folded the skin back over and got the bleeding to stop. Some old yuppie type came along and was telling us he was going to call 911. We said not for stitches dude,but thanks. The good news is when you walk into the ER covered in blood and blood dripping,they take you right in.It’s not that bad, just stitches in the hand is a pain in the ass, when you are in the trades. Hard to keep it clean and easy to rip back open. The doctor told me to take 10 days off and laughed. He said he has to tell me that,but knows construction workers never do. My fingers are moving fine today, so I’m not going to some specialist on Monday. Those fuckers will drag it out for a month with physical therapist bs. Had to report it to work because it involved a company vehicle and I was picking up tools for a job and some personal stuff right after work. I wasn’t on company time but splitting hairs when making a claim. I got stitches on my own insurance, I didn’t feel like dealing with the comp bs. The company safety director called me to day and put me on light duty until I get the stitches out. He looked at the pictures and said the same thing. You are going to rip those fucking stitches out three times before it heals.top of the hand, and soft tissue. Of all the crazy shit I do, this was a stupid way to get stitched back up.
