The entire global industrial complex is dealing with a labor shortage. The workers own the pimp hand on this one.
Mainecat
The big auto CEO’s salaries have increased 40% in the last 5 years. The union members want 40%. Seems fair.

Maybe move more stuff to right to work states or Mexico. More automation etc.

Right to work states are facing the exact same type of labor shortage as other states. Automation is going to happen no matter what the workers do. F3600
Shareholders demand YOY increases in revenue and margin. Executives are measured on delivering that growth through any number of levers. But without acquisitions that becomes harder and harder and in this space acquisitions are slow to mature and be profitable. The workers are right to ask for their compensation to increase ahead of the profit margin. And Management is missing an opportunity to give them the increase, reset shareholder expectation of growth/profitability and have a scapegoat for mediocre returns for the next 4-8 years.

Platinum Contributing Member Highmark Posted September 15, 2023 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted September 15, 2023 (edited) Simple solution. Let the Unions buy the companies then they can pay the employees and executives what they think is fair compensation. Let's just see if they can go out and secure financing with the requests they are making. Edited September 15, 2023 by Highmark

What is with some of you guys and digging up old posts. It’s generally creepy, weird and gives no context to when and why it was said. Romney was the better choice in 2012 and has since turned into a rinos rino.
