The colder water temps in that area has typically inoculated it against a hurricane making landfall. Combination El Niño and climate change has created an interesting combination of warmer water. Time will tell what happens. There are some bright sides to this scenario. The sultan sea could see some much needed relief. It’s a major migratory bird sanctuary that has been drying up.
