What you working on today?

Recommended Posts

Just finished up a crankshaft rebuild on a John Deere  / CCW / Kioritz 340 fanner. The guy might get one vintage ride in this year if we get some snow. Worst year ever for rideable snow in Michigan.IMG_20240218_142910117.jpg

Damn. Lot of work. I hate drilling spot welds. Couldn’t pull the floor?  Rails look pretty straight.

Floor was crumpled up pretty bad rails weren’t bad it got hit low. It’s even more enjoyable drilling welds when they barely drill out and leave it to VW to put 10fucking million of them.

Right! the new metal destroys the bits.  shitty job, having to cut anything apart like that.

Put a new starter, battery, air filter, and spark plug in the four wheeler.

Have to troubleshoot one of the AC systems on the TV truck today.  I’m thinking a contactor pooped out.  The indicator for the condenser fan never goes green and the fan is just free wheelin.  The neighbor fan seems to be keeping enough air moving  across it so that I’m not getting a high pressure alarm.  Johnson controls is coming out to look over the systems, the hot season is coming!

I sprayed my bud and his old man’s truck project for them over the weekend. They’ve been working on this thing for years so it’s cool to see it with some color and one step closer to driving.IMG_5858.thumb.jpeg.430a18190c6fc848975d6f54dbb60f42.jpegIMG_5864.thumb.jpeg.14aaf77842e49787acd881d0c3f706b3.jpeg

Just had to replace my Hayward pump this year too. Fried out the end of last season.  Picked up replacement from Doheny pool supplies....their own name on pump.

The salt water generator is a Saltron Retro....not super expensive but it did work  pretty well.  Had to order a new power supply for $250

Feel like I’m reviving a really old thread, but I’m working on a “Dog House”.  It will be 24x40 and for the most part completely independent of the main residence.  It shouldn’t be able to have the power shut off, but you never know I guess.  The area is cleared, and the last trees went down this morning giving access to said “Dog House” that officially moved the needle to earn its name.
