Gold Member BOHICA Posted December 16, 2022 Gold Member Share Posted December 16, 2022 Tesla makes the most profit per sale now…. But they are predicted to pass Toyota up as being the most profitable overall. https://cleantechnica.com/2022/12/16/byd-may-lead-in-ev-deliveries-tesla-will-pass-toyota/ Analysts predict Tesla’s operating profit will surpass global leader Toyota’s, which could represent another industry-wide disruption from the US automaker. Toyota has a higher operating profit than any other auto company, and the Japanese automaker is expected to earn $20.1 billion in operating profit in 2022, according to Barron’s. Comparatively, some Wall Street estimates place Tesla’s operating profit at $22.6 billion for next year, which would likely be enough to surpass Toyota — especially if electric vehicle trends continue upward. Lots are pushing orders out to 2023 for that reason. 2 versions of the model 3 will qualify and all model Y versions will qualify. Lots of other EV’s will lose out. Democrats unknowingly boosted Tesla huge compared to every other manufacture with there Inflation Reduction Act.

Carlos Danger
Add in the fact that Toyota makes more cars in a day than Tesla does in a month and it is even more impressive.

Another bad thing is GM and Ford are using Tesla as the benchmark for their EV's they have and the ones they are developing. SMH "Well, how did Tesla do it?" is common thing right now to hear in Engineering where I'm at

Gold Member BOHICA Posted December 17, 2022 Author Gold Member Share Posted December 17, 2022 The big 3 have inherent legacy automaker issues that will prevent them from reaching the profitability of Tesla as well as the efficiencies of Tesla.
