He thinks it's just the fur but I'm with you...looks like a collar. I know they were tracking them with collars in the late '90s early 2000s but not sure if they still do. That would be one hell of an old cat if they aren't anymore 😂.

We used to see them when we were kids once in awhile and the farmer up the road actually shot one... And that was about the last time I ever saw one But it seems like they have made quite a comeback in New Jersey from what I hear. Still pretty rare to see but good news.

Interesting night with a friend's weekly get together. Guy with the vest is a warbird pilot and owners a P40 Warhawk and has flown P51 mustangs.

Highly interesting between the difference between the Allison and Merlin engines between the P40 and P51. Low altitude Allison was better high attitude Merlin. The US government steered Allison to turbo charged only which hurt the Allison for high altitude performance. Merlin was turbo charged and supercharger (2 speed) for better high altitude performance. 2nd gear on the supercharger was only supposed to be used for high altitude dogfight during combat because of the additional fuel consumption. The pilots didn't always listen.
