The people out are the risk takers, and they all drive 80 mph. I blew by a mass state trooper today and 80 in a 55 and he couldn't give a damn.

I was going 85+ on the way home from golf and getting passed

What’s that coast to coast race? It set a record this year that will never be matched.

Brock Yates would be proud

ops are not even running there radar most of tve time now days . my escort is almost never going off now.  it sort of fucks you for early detection but if at least looking like you are going with the flow they are not even doing a quick check .

they don't want to have to get close to anyone they don't have to

Cannonball run. They aren't accepting it as an official record though because of the circumstances.

when ed bolian who held the record for almost 7 years started talking about the people who might run it under quarantine i felt that way and it seems now that they did lots feel that way.  the prerunning and planes was bad enough from the last record holder.

Cops around here have been sitting in the median with all of their lights on. Trying to get people to back off a bit. People are getting back to work. It’s gone from everyone doing 80ish to 65/70. A lot less trucks now and more passenger vehicles.

that is bullshit . a run is a run . one could argue there were more cops on the roads and less traffic to hide in .

my guess they were not part of the good old boys  club

Funny you should post this. I see the same mass state cop a couple times a week at a convenience store and we talk once in a while, he told me they are keeping speed enforcement on the back burner unless you are a complete idiot. They don't want to risk exposure any more than they have to.

i'm running 90 or so into work on I95 most days without realizing how fast i am going theres so little traffic.  The other day i came off the ramp hammered down to the rev limiter in the mustang and looked over and the cop was sitting there at the end of the ramp.  one of the few i have seen since the corona.

This is pretty much a once in a lifetime chance to mash the pedal with little concern and also relative safety in doing so with much fewer cars on road.

The exception of local roads where everyone and their brother are out walking.

And there is no reason to hammer down then. Nothing wrong with showing a little respect for the people living and working in the villages.

When this is over and back to normal they are going to be pulling everyone over for the slightest infraction. A lot of revenue has been lost over the past 5-6 weeks..
