Elk are pretty destructive when they start to hang around farms. They break down fences and animals get out. There's more permitted elk hunters hunting private land vs public state forest where they're supposed to stay. At least with deer farmers can get reams of doe tags and make a dent in the population. one guy I know got 40 permits and filled them all. Can't do that with elk.

It's like that east of here. More deer than trees sometimes. There's at least a couple a day killed on m32.

Have they been making the season longer to try to control population?

What freaks me out is the coyotes around here. I see them walking right down the street at night. And they’re not scrawny like the ones you see up north. They’re well fed and yuge. Interesting how they’ve adapted to live in the city.

I live in the city close to an airport but there is a ravine between me and it's where the yotes live. I've seen 2 in my 18 yrs living here run down the street and both times it was in broad daylight!!

For the past 2-3 yrs now, no signs of them but I heard the Mange went around during that time which is more than likely the reason why? Like everything, it comes in cycles. One year will be lots of rabbits running around, like this year, and possibly next year there will be no rabbits and lots of yotes and maybe fox?

I've only seen 3 at my house since I moved N.  But I hear them all the time at night.  I found a dead deer in my wood in the spring. It was ripped to shreds.  My son say he heard something going on in the woods on night shortly before we found it. Said he woke up and heard screaming.    I know the coyotes got it. I'll see if I still have the pics.

I’ve found a few skunk and rabbit carcasses in the yard. Wouldn’t bother me if they cleaned up all the skunks.

First one I saw was carrying a rabbit in its mouth heading towards my neighbors back yard.  I don't see to many skunks out by me.  Lots of oppossum and coons every now and then. I heard to leave the oppossum and coons alone tho because they eat all kinds of bugs , including ticks.

Found em.

plenty of neighborhood cats to eat.  We've had issues for years now,  they got my cat back in 06/07 and are still eating them to this day.

I hear packs of Coyotes at the state park at dusk...pretty eerie. They also say to be careful during mating season with your dogs at they will lure them in and attack.

I go outside at night with my dog. There’s been a few little ones that came up missing in the yards around here.

Fuck coyotes, they’re considered nothing more than rodents up north, kill them anytime.  We have them around here too, and every couple months I hear them out back yipping away.  Buddy got a video locally of a pretty good sized coy wolf, some hybrid half breed thing.  Pretty damn big.  Lotsa bobcats, and even a mountain lion spotted behind my office recently.  No wolves though.

You see on the news all the time them warning people about the coyotes in the area , snatching dogs and cats.  Shelby Township, Sterling Heights, Macomb Township, Clinton Township.  They are all over. Even more out by me

Already told my neighbors that if opportunity comes along and I can I will shoot them.  If they come close enough and I get the chance to .  All 3 of us have dogs

We were sitting out on the porch at my in laws a couple years back, and father in law blasted a coyote running across the field.  I have a .308 Savage for the same occasion if I see one around here.  One tried luring my Airedale into the woods about 8-10 years ago, and he was old at the time.  Fortunately, he just started barking his ass off, and I went outside and chased him off (gun wasn’t handy at the time lol)

I haven’t seen any coyotes around here...in I don’t know how many years.  Somebody said it’s because of the wolves?  IDK, I just let it play out.

Wolves get bear dogs up north every year. Coyotes get suburb dogs sometimes near Milwaukee. Get a Mountain Lion every year or so nearby, had one about 2 miles from my house this year. They are usually just passing through.

Sucks about the elk, but wolves do the same shit. They kill just to kill sometimes. Not defending the poachers. We don't need poachers or wolves in midwest.

I dont mind "some" coyotes, but they reproduce too much. We have hunt "clubs" here during winter. Most coyotes wins. Not a bad thing, keeps them in check. Coyotes are a free for all the entire year. They have a season up north.
