Back 30 years ago my bud was going to school for that only to find out the airlines hire all of their pilots out of the military. We are in a skilled trades shortage up here as well. Many ads looking for apprentices in all kinds of trades. I told my son to do his electrical engineering apprenticeship through a company that will pay him but he wants to go to college instead. I am not pushing him as I am proud he is doing something to better himself/obtain a trade but myself, personally, I'd much rather be getting paid for it than spending money on it.
