First and foremost total tax revenue is not down.  

Because of the switch to cash method for small business' tax revenue was not as high as it could have been.   Massive change.   Revenue on these business' will be back up next year.

 

Of course tax revenues are down. When you have 12 million illegals , 1/2 of them working for cash, employed by people working for cash, what would you expect? 

Decrease military spending, by a at least half(at least), primarily by stop going to war unless we are directly and physically attacked. Decrease spending on social programs. Use the money to improve/repair our infastructure, pay down our debt & balance our budget. Our own fiscal behavior is our biggest threat to our national security.

SMH,  social programs overall are far more important than the military and destroying foreign countries.  in both cases take the fraud and abuse out of them and there is way more than enough money but the military needs a 20% cut over a decade not more toys they don't need.

I think really for alot of those social programs they should just take them away from the federal govt and let the states do their own. Take the tax burden off of the fed and then people can decide what states they want to live in...

It would affect the market for sure, always does. It'll affect the private sector too, economic uncertainty always causes corps to clam up with the spending and growth. Been there done that.
