You can and that would add to your daily spend. No one says you cant work in retirement.

How much do you spend per day Neal?

Well over $200 for sure.

I'm not disagreeing with your numbers, at least for an idealistic budgeted retirement.  However it seems you are indeed not the norm, at least as far as age and amount saved.

Im saying for two people in retirement to live on $200 per day is not living large. Its living on a budget. Its not going out and buying new trucks and sleds and quads and trailers whenever you want.

Its $73000 per year. I would guess that 75% of the posters in this forum live on $200/day or more.

For two people, certainly. :bc:

Can anyone on this forum live on $40k per year?

Anyone.

I lived on that amount or less for about the first 4 years of my working career.

But I didn't own a house or a shiny pickup at that time. :bc:

A wife will cost you more than the shiniest of all pickups.

I never said that my age and amount saved was the norm.

What ive said from the beginning is $200 per day is not living large. Its a  budget for two people with 30 years left to live.

"alot of wealthy people will have a few hundred grand laying around when they die, after having spent at least $200 a day in retirement."

Stop deflecting you dumb shit, this isn't about me. It's about your ignorant perception of how most people live in retirement.

I think the point Tom is making is that he doesn't want to live his retirement the way alot of people do.

Dude. Not one person on this forum lives on $40k per year. Not even one. I would bet the average is over $75k per year.

Thats over $200 per day.

Nowhere did I ever say average american. Nowhere.

Youd be in a new provost if you were wealthy....slinger is so out to lunch.

You’re retired before 50 and kudos to you but definitely not close to the norm.
