Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), a veteran who lost both her legs while serving in Iraq. VoteVets was responding to Trump’s morning tweet, in which he said fallen service members “would be very happy” with how the country is doing today. Other social media users also criticized Trump for using the holiday as a way to boast about himself. VoteVets, which says it supports nearly 500,000 veterans and military families, has often criticized Trump and his policies.
