CNN – yeah, that CNN – reported Tuesday the only people who showed up to the grand reveal for the former FBI director’s much-hyped book were journalists. And that's in D.C., where political news junkies do nerdy stuff like take a day off work for the State of the Union and hold drinking parties while watching congressional hearings on CNN. In fact, there were so many reporters and so few regular customers at one book store that a reporter finally asked if there was a single “normal person” anywhere in the crowd. Only one dude spoke up. From CNN: "There are more cameras here than people," one person joked. Another journalist asked the room: "Is anyone a normal person or is everyone a journalist?" Only one person -- reluctantly -- identified himself as a "normal person." "I wanted to see it for myself and read it, especially after Comey's ABC interview. I'm more curious now," said Matthew Hoeck, who was immediately approached by a handful of reporters in the room. CNN noted that Michael Wolff’s tabloidy and error-filled tell-all on Trump drew huge crowds for its release back in January. But apparently, no one really cares about Comey’s testimonial. One customer, 25-year-old Phillip Carlisle, told CNN he believes Wolff’s book likely got more public attention because it contained so many lies. "I liked Wolff's book a lot but he is not a trustworthy person," he said. "Part of what made that so exciting is there were all these details coming out and you weren't sure what was real and what wasn't." Next time, maybe Comey should include more unverified details about Russian hookers peeing on hotel beds. Since that’s all that appears to matter.
