Russia and the Syrian govt are beating back ISIS and.... we want to overthrow the democratically elected leader of Syria and put sanctions of Russia? Seems the people here like what Russia is doing to help. And they are fighting ISIS but... Assad is the bad guy? Now here is a global super power fighting a rogue terrorist group who is heavily armed and using some kind of intel. Where are they getting that weaponry and intel? Something dont smell right. Iran and Russia both have a big interest in syria. both have their only access to the mediterian from syria with naval bases there. Russia wants to control the gas flow through the region to maintain some control over their natural gas sales to europe. Putin is working deals with iran to iron out how they will work together to control the pipeline.
