The economy keeps cranking under the Biden Administration….

Private job creation totaled a stunning 233,000 in October, far more than expected, ADP says

Private-job creation burst to its highest level in more than a year during October, despite a devastating storm season in the Southeast and major labor disruptions, ADP reported Wednesday.

The payrolls processing firm said companies hired 233,000 new workers in the month, better than the upwardly revised 159,000 in September and far ahead of the Dow Jones estimate for 113,000. ADP said it was the best month for job creation since July 2023.

“Even amid hurricane recovery, job growth was strong in October,” ADP chief economist Nela Richardson said. “As we round out the year, hiring in the U.S. is proving to be robust and broadly resilient.”

The numbers counter expectations for a slowdown in October on the heels of two brutal hurricanes — Helene and Milton — that ravaged the Southeast, with Florida and North Carolina getting slammed in particular.

U.S. job growth slowed down in October, coming in well short of economists' expectations, while the unemployment rate was unchanged.

The Labor Department on Friday reported that employers added 12,000 jobs in October, well below the 113,000 gain that was predicted by LSEG economists.

The unemployment rate was 4.1%, in line with expectations.

The number of jobs added in the prior two months were both revised downward, with job creation in August revised down by 81,000 from a gain of 159,000 to 78,000, while September was revised down by 31,000 from a gain of 254,000 to 223,000.

Hey dummy - it was predicted with the hurricanes and a couple strikes.  Stick to your Canadian farm

We haven't had hiring numbers this bad since we were in the middle of the pandemic.  12,000 jobs in October, and massive downward revision of August and September of 112,000 combined.

Bidenomics is a disaster.  The economy IS slowing in terms of commercial spending, and companies can't access cheap capital anymore and many are folding up.  Thousands of small businesses are getting wiped out, especially in the venture-backed tech space I play in.

It's clear ADP was cooking the numbers for Harris.  The ACTUAL numbers are fucking dismal.  Worst in years.
