If Russia was really a military superpower they would not be in the spot they are now.

Russia won a long while ago. They aren't trying to take over all of Ukraine, they still occupy the annexed land they annexed a year and half ago. Ukraine isn't getting it back.

Farmland yea.....The Russian navy is basically pushed out of Crimea and the "Bridge" is one well placed missile away from dust.  Sure the Russians can try and hold onto areas that were  mostly Russian sympathetic but I think their hold on Crimea is becoming harder and really other than installing a puppet government Holding onto Crimea would be key.

Effectiveness against Russian, Iranian, NK, and Chinese equipment is analyzed daily. The CIA and DOD contractors have their noses in every orifice over there. All data is transmitted to Raytheon and RTX for next generation weapons.  It’s realtime, wartime intel.

You need your own military/intelligence podcast.   Or would it get you in trouble with your employers.

This is why the average age of the ukraine soldier is over 43.

Absolute slaughter.

And in the 3rd year of the war, Russia still doesn’t have control of the regions it illegally annexed, even after such a high K/D ratio? Ouch.

Think of this as Russia’s version of mission accomplished. They say Russia has won the war. Exactly what have they won?

They won no change of leadership in Kyiv and two (soon to be three) new NATO nations. Supposedly the exact opposite of what they wanted and reason to which they started this war.

The long term for Russia is bleak in Ukraine. They have stirred up so much anti Russian sentiment that the hate will persist for years. Any pipelines or rail that Putin attempts to install in Ukraine will immediately be sabotaged. He’ll have won nothing. But that’s what he had in mind. He wanted Ukraine to be an inefficient and crippled state that doesn’t have any chance of making Russia look bad. A prosperous and independent Ukraine is much like America. Plenty of natural resources. Self sustaining energy source. Tremendous farming potential. Sea ports galore. Putin and Russia have always felt threatened by neighbors like that. It’s why he invades them.

The thing is Putin can't sue for peace. If he kept his gains in some sort of a peace deal Ukraine would certainly end up in NATO dam near immediately.
