nrcptr
Found my James Bond boat. Pucked up last September. Gonna buy a 60 Mercury prop and see how she does this summer. Gonna try Circle to Eagle on the Yukon. About 155 miles or so one way. Probably need about 40 gallons of gas one way. Should be an adventure!

sleepybrew
20ft boat 4.3 v6 , 55mph. many v8 boats can't beat it. i raced a guy down from albany , i just kept pulling away. i waited , he pulls up see what i have ,"please tell me that's not a 6 cylinder" . i popped the engine cover , he was sad. "you know how much gas i burned trying to catch you?" the v8 version of my boat is only 2 mph faster on top. my fuel economy is great , especially just cruising at 45 . i have been from the troy dam as far south as the verazzano bridge . even a touch in to the ocean but not much. open bow boat doesn't belong there. i floated in ny harbour and drank a beer. 2 weeks later was 911.

The 4.3s are great I/O engines. The Stingray's are fast boats as well. I barely squeak out 57-58 mph depending on load. base model 454 in a 25ft Baja . I run mine in the Sound on good days its a open bow. But it also has a 24 degree deadrise hull. Edited February 3 by EvilBird
