Not sure what you paid for the car but if it is a new car it's will amount to more money than my old man ever handed me. 

He gave me a job, he gave me opportunity but never a hand out. In the end his investment in his sons to run the business paid off very well for him. If he had sold out 30 years ago he wouldn't have done as well in an average mutual fund. 

it worked out really well for us too. As far as succession planning goes, I doubt it would have worked out any better.

Not sure why you are so jealous of that. It doesn't affect you. But I'll be interested to see how not making your son work for things pans out for you.

You were given everything you have that is the fucking point, you never once ventured on your own.   And if you did who was there to back you or help?  Where do you think you would have got to on your own?  Seriously.

I absolutely love what I do, I chased a career that intrigued me and made the best of it.  Its worked out in spades for me and yes I had the marks and commitment to get into any career, but you have to like what you do.  So I would like to extend that same courtesy to my son, who does not have to follow in my footsteps or his moms for that matter.  There will be support for whatever path is chosen.

Who says I'm a big Trump supporter.  I'm a Canadian who does over 95% of his business outside of Canada and you think I want to latch onto protectionist Trump.  However I do understand why Americans rejected Hillary and don't think the protectionism wasn't going to happen under her watch.

Trudeau?  I don't care that the government pays for his travel arrangements, its expected.  The problem is his visits an island where the owner has a charity lobbying the Canadian Government for hundreds of million of dollars.  As a sitting PM he should avoid that, but I don't expect you to understand why its an issue.

My father took higher paycheques starting 4 years after the take over than he ever took before. He had a guaranteed wage and shared the profits.

We are nowhere near as Rich as Trump. But we didn't start as rich or have to rip people off to do it.
