Bills Safety Damar Hamlin collapses after making a tackle and given CPR on the field and taken by ambulance…sad, sad scene.

Thats what I heard, made a tackle then got up and collapsed? The CPR aspect is a bad sign. Good luck to the guy.

Postponed the game. Most likely passed imo. Not good. 

Whop was the basket ball player 20 or so years ago? Same sorta thing?

 Didn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary or crazy about the hit either. Sad!

Not the same.   This is likely Commotio cordis where a blow to the chest at a very specific moment causes a change to the electrical input controlling the heart.   More common in baseball and actually happened to my towns HS baseball coach after he took an errant bat to the chest.   He also survived.

Gathers died on the court but I don’t know what the actual cause was…preexisting heart condition maybe and yes the speculation on Hamlin has Commotio Cordis…horrible no matter the cause.

They already are on Twitter so I’m surprised it’s taken him this long.

He had a heart attack.

He's alive and in a drug induced coma and on a ventilator..... as to how I'm sure the real info will come out at some point.

Gathers had already been diagnosed with irregular heartbeat and prescribed meds.

Len Bias was due to a cocaine overdose causing cardiac arrest.
