Platinum Contributing Member steve from amherst Posted October 27, 2022 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted October 27, 2022 Always choose a bench trial. You dont want to be judged by 12 people who are too stupid to be able to get out of jury duty.
spin_dry
Given my tight relationship with the dept of corrections, I was dismissed every time.
ICG
Avoiding Jury Duty .... 1. Throw away their letters with out even opening.. 2. Send them a perfectly written letter in French, German , etc requesting them to resend their letter in your requested language. One and Two work well from experience.. Don't. use # 0ne in California, they issue bench arrests for failure to appear. Bunch of pricks. Everybody in the system makes big bucks.... Why should the public work for free..... Ez ryder
They asked me 2 questions 1 about cops honesty and 1 somthing about minority crime can't remember exactly . I gave them my honest awnsers and I was told I could go home. Those that know me personaly know I have zero issue telling it like it is in person with no filter with zero fucks given . That did not go with with the prosecutor or defense attorney asking questions nor the judge as he was the one who excused me lol
XCR1250
I loved being on Jury duty, I even asked 2 Judges how I could get back on again.
smokin george
I went once for the selection process and sat their listening to the BS process then it was my turn for the interview. I got lucky it was with a lady and gave her my sob story lol. I told her I was a single dad with 3 kids and in a bad financial way and couldn't afford to take time off work and had nobody to look after the kids. It worked and about a year ago another letter came and it went in the garbage Edited October 28, 2022 by smokin george

They didn't know French, when I sent them a written request for all correspondence. If that doesn't work during jury selection a couple of key questions will synch it. Civil - ask Plaintiffs council what jurors cut is. Criminal - nod , wink at Defence Attorney. Flirt with council and client Or ask States Attorney, if they can help you with a motor vehicle infraction.... Last time I got called in to Hartford Superior Court, sat there all fuckin day, finally get called in. Case was about a slip and fall at a rental property, and the attorney suing the property owner was interviewing me.. I told them I had rental properties, and was sued once by a lady who tripped over a box and got a big payout from my insurance company. "i'm the last guy you want on this jury" "You're dismissed".
