Gold Member BOHICA Posted March 7, 2017 Gold Member Share Posted March 7, 2017 (edited) keeping kids on their parents till they are 26 was basically where obamacare gain any enrollement. What was before obamacare... they dropped off when ever the insurance company rules were??? You pick up a large percentage of the population by leaving the kids on the plan till 26. Good on Trump for keeping the only 2 successful things of Obama care. The rest of the the 1000's of pages in Obamacare can be shredded. I have 3 step kids that have insurance that wouldn't have at this point I think due to them being on till 26. 1jkw
The mandate as unpopular as it is, keep cost's down, younger healthier people paying in helps balance out the older less healthy people, if it goes cost's go up like it or not it's a fact.
Snoslinger
getting rid of mandates is a dumb idea. what happens when the people that now won't pay shit need healthcare? the mandate should have stayed and the penalties stiffened.

Obamacare/romney care was based on the conservative heritage groups plan. Increase the size of the risk pool. Bring in lots of healthy young people to bring down the overall costs. 42 minutes ago, Snoslinger said: getting rid of mandates is a dumb idea. what happens when the people that now won't pay shit need healthcare? the mandate should have stayed and the penalties stiffened. Paul McLeod BuzzFeed News Reporter WASHINGTON — The Republican plan to replace Obamacare includes a tax break for insurance company executives making over $500,000 per year. Companies can generally deduct employee salaries as a business expense but in 2013 the Affordable Care Act capped the deductions on health insurance executive salaries at $500,000. The average compensation for top health insurance executives is in the millions. In 2014 the left-leaning Institute for Policy Studies found that this cap generated $72 million in additional tax revenue. But that cap is being eliminated in the new American Healthcare Act unveiled Monday by Republicans. That means the more health insurance companies pay their executives the less they will pay in taxes.https://www.buzzfeed.com/paulmcleod/the-republican-healthcare-plan-includes-tax-break-for-insura?utm_term=.jhYM8191b#.jbK2bxlxy

Platinum Contributing Member Jimmy Snacks Posted March 7, 2017 Author Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted March 7, 2017 (edited) Well I'm sure a tax break for Insurance Execs will help bring down rates. Like Ben said how about we address healthcare costs. Also still not allowed to sell health insurance across state lines. Actually that's not true, and as the fines grew so did the numbers of people signing up. Trump promised everyone would be covered and the cost would be lower and the care better and we will be proud of the system, lets wait and see if it's true. No doubt they would rather buy phones ect., but I have 2 friends that work a health care outreach center and they say as the fines went up so did the number of people signing up, and as people started to understand buying through the market place could save money more people did.
