Anyone else getting parts, looking at their new sled or prepping their machines yet?

I ended up getting ahold of someone I was told might have a set kicking around and he didn’t have any but was actually walking into Northern crankshaft when I messaged him. He asked the guys there and gave them my number, within an hour they called me and told me while they didn’t have any units for stock on the shelf that they would be getting some back from the plater soon. An hour later he called me and told me that he tracked me down a set of freshly plated cylinders at a great price and would ship them tomorrow. Absolutely incredible customer service and I don’t know if they’re making much if any money off the deal. Not like I’m a repeat big account customer they need to make happy either.

Also I have no idea if that’s anywhere near a reasonable price I have on FB but really just wanted to trade for stickers 😂. I agree with @mnstangi have no clue why someone would port a modern 600 motor but people do weird shit.

Sleds gonna be basically brand new now and as usual in my “good deal” situations I’m gonna end up buried in it lol. Track, studs, driveshaft, primary, top end and seat cover.

I don’t get that either unless you are racing it in certain class. You could put 3k of aftermarket bolts on that 600 and still be down about 20hp from the stock 800. And you can buy the 800 for way less money

Porting, power commander, flash and clutching probably over 2500 into it for what 4hp and no reliability?

Exactly. When buying the sled new the difference between the 800 and 600 isn’t that much

I still kick myself.  One spring Heinens had zr4000rr's for $5700, brand new.  I think my snopro 500 was still pretty new to me so I didn't bite.  But I could have rode it all these years for free.  What a deal that was

the shocks alone in the 15/16 are worth the price of admission... but it's only 85hp         :lolz:

Yep its crazy what some sleds sold for a few years back. My xf I bought from a former Co worker. He paid $5900 for it as a one year old carry over.

This is probably better suited for the FB thread but I’m still seeing idiots trying to flip snowchecks, or low mileage year olds, for more than retail. I just can’t imagine they are selling for that but when you look into the actual post, there’s 20 people tagging 20 more in the comments. There’s got to be a lot of 20 something’s out there killing the fuck out of their credit scores or a bunch of cash in hand rich fuckers who just don’t care.

If I had the balls, and know what I know now after the past few years, I should have spring ordered sleds in all of my family members names and sold them all for profit. I guess that’s IF that is actually even happening. Unreal.

Never understood the love of air shocks other than weight savings. They’ve never appealed to me and I’ve never ridden a set that made me say “Oh I gotta have these.” Not to mention that the last factory Cat set I saw apart at my shock guys shop, laid next to a set that were actually purchased from Fox, it was an eye opener.

Im not a W/E thumper either, to be clear. The QS3s that I helped set up on a buds RMK last year were mega sweet, for sure.

I don't care about the front shocks... the skid shocks is the $ shot.  Some like the Float's... I prefer a coil spring.

That is about what I paid for my zr900 as a carryover.  Pretty crazy when you think about it.  You can barely buy a 10 year old neglected POS now for that kind of money.  Crazy.  And that was brand new and it still rips all these years later.

Rich man's hobby.

Yep. I gave him 3200 for it probably 6 years ago and People are still asking 2500-4k for sleds like mine. Ridiculous. Kinda overwhelming to even think about upgrading with these prices.

Yep, trying to get a buddy off his twin spar, he hasn't bought a sled for around 6 or 7 years.  It's not happening, prices are too steep, I don't blame him.

something people haven't considered... interest rates.  when those sleds were ordered the going rates were a shitload less than now.  $18K sled, plus interest might be a bigger payment than most are willing to take so quite possibly they are trying to flip em before signing the docs?  idk, it's still crazy what people are at least asking for shit... including the manufacturers.

but, if you're considering something new down the road... now is the time to part with stuff you aren't in love with.   ran across this in my old docs today... this was 2020 snowmaggedon.  look at the TCat price!  you can't get a well equipped ZR-RR/XCR/XRS 600 for that now.

You may have missed it but I’m not buying ANY sled, new. I’ve found a few sleds that interest me that are in the price range of where I could flip what I have and have very little, if any, money out of my pocket. That’s the most I’d do.

You should ask about it on FB but I'm pretty sure they'll just say check your belt deflection.

I was thinking it was from running the wrong oil......

Looks like I should at least get an alignment bar and check it out. First time that's happened.

How old is the belt?  Cat belt?  Could just be old and couldn't take the down on 5 horses of the f7 motor.  Weren't you just replacing a motor mount?  Maybe it being bad caused some belt booboo

I have a few bars and am going through there Friday morning I could drop one off if I have the one you need

Cat Belt was new about 4 years ago. It was supposedly a softer compound one that i used at the suggestion of a guy on hcs. Not sure how many miles since then. I did replace a motor mount and that thought crossed my mind.

A couple years ago, a guy was working with a shop on a turbo'ed 600.  The general consensus was to just buy an 800.  Nope, he was going to turbo that 600 come hell or high water and he was happy as a clam to be their guinea pig.
