Trump shot Carrier in the knee as they were running for mexico.  He and his admin kept them here for next to nothing....  Wisconsin recount is going to cost at least half of Carrier incentive with nothing to show for it.

16 million investment in this plant, $31 an hour jobs saved.  1100 of them.  Early retirements and severances still intact for the lost jobs.  Less going on unemployment and welfare.  This is a win win.  The only reason to even to be negative about this deal is to wish for failure for party lines as well as putting more people on welfare to vote democrat.

It's great that the jobs were saved and the retirements and severance are still intact.

The $ 31 per hr.  here compared to the $3 per hr. there, really illustrates the problems we face.

Exactly. Free trade only works with equivalent pay. Like the US and Canada. Hard to compete with 3 bucks and hour.

That's true and that why tariffs can be so effective.  We have something unbelievable strong here in America, we are the worlds largest buyers of consumer products...that's what we do, that's our specialty:  Consumption.  So, you wanna sell shit here that isn't made here, we need to make import costs reasonably close to home production costs.  Our free trade agreement in place is the most horrific country killing agreement ever penned here.

Anytime that tariffs are brought up, people cry we can't be protectionists or isolationists.

They are wrong.  And they are the reason our companies have fled our soil.   Those people don't believe protecting what is "ours" because they don't believe it's ours...it belongs to the world I guess?  Enough with all that silliness.

Americans are running back to work...............unemployment rate hits 9 year low.

They must figure the gravy train is coming to an end.

I remember last time the republican congress rejected Obama wanting to extend the unemployment checks for people again. The unemployment rate went down. Funny little thing called motivation...

There needs to be a balance in the world economy, and there isn't, the big business political powers that be won't allow it, without the ability to exploit 3rd world countries they can't make the great profits they do now.
