The theory being that if the swamp area doesn't freeze quickly there is still a way around the swamp when it's not frozen and still allow easy access to the parking lot. Thats good. The billions it creates will be worth it. Towns and Cities should have paths to and from trails. Quebec is a good example Truly amazing that we have the trails we do all done Free

02sled
Trails closing and being rerouted has been happening for as far back as you can imagine and will continue to happen. There is the reality that a large number of trails are on private property. Land owners change and existing land owners can change their mind about letting us use their property. In urban settings which are continually growing their will be trails lost... inevitable. I have friends who lived in the Woodbridge / Bolton / Palgrave area and were riding trails there 40 years ago. Those trails no longer exist. Does that mean the end of the OFSC began when those trails disappeared.

Platinum Contributing Member Blackstar Posted December 15, 2016 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted December 15, 2016 To the West of Kitchener. The B203 will be rerouted. The former section of B203 from intersection 332 to 362 is gone and will likely never return. Rumor is the Greenwood club will be closing up since that was all they had for trail. The former B203 will have a road run from intersection 357 to 361 of about 2 kms on gravel. A new trail is in the works for next season but a bridge is required to make that happen. If you run the road please be aware that this is area is used by Mennonites on horse and buggy. Respect will go along ways as these people also owned the bulk of the properties we have trails on. Please watch your speed and noise levels. There will be a trail to the west side of Heidelberg to access for fuel and food but it is a long road rash down the shoulder and curb line to the gas station. Running of sidewalks is banned in the town. OPP in the area have said they will not charge anyone who stays to the shoulder and respects the speed limits. Trail 5-83 from intersection 364 to 368 through Elmira is now a dead end at the town ball diamond coming in from the west as the new subdivision has cut the access. The gas station will now be accessed from the south only. That's where our area sits currently.
