Frostynuts
Yup, your racing results with your buddies might vary, greatly. Lots of guys know how to swap out parts. Most go slower, a very few get the correct combo of parts, and go faster. Most guys sleds run the best when left factory stock. Over the years, after visiting several sled forums, I,ve come to the conclusion that there are probably a half dozen guys that really know there stuff. All the others, are just parts changers, that hope for the best, but usually go slower. Is it to late to cancel my Poo 850 order, know that results have once again proven that they are such a slow POS ?

I heard being the fastest was all about CC’s and dyno numbers. I feel so gypped.

Bingo. But, can we still call the 850 the “hyper sled class”. Many of us have grown to love that phrase. Thanks for that, Buttcocks!! jtssrx
I had a long conversation this morning with a guy that ran his personal sled at the Shootout yesterday. He said the track started out slow becuase of the rain the night before. He said the track got better as the day went as it froze up as temp dropped. He said the reason the two-strokes didn't lay numbers like last year was Air temp. He ran his sled last year as well. He said it was single-digit highs last year and this year was closer to 30. He said the start line was very good this year so 60 foots were good that's why you saw the low 9.0's for the sidewinder and Thundercat. He said the last Thundercat run was an anomaly as they ran in a headwind all day and that run was done with a wind shift of down the track. he said the wind blew so hard on that run from behind that it blew the tailgate on his truck closed. He said the cat guys agreed the tailwind helped that last run and joked that god rides an AC. His guess was with a drop in temp everything would have really laid down some impressive numbers. high 8's for the turbos and lower 9's for the 800/850 class. He said there was an XCR 850 Polaris that ran in the aftermarket class that was a rocket.
