Guest
I'm an absolute rabid hater of pit-bull dogs. I've been posting against them for YEARS . They need to all be euthanized. Every fukken one of them.

Cold War
Pretty shotty reporting. Chanel 4 sucks. The woman who owns the dog lives right there on street. The second person the dog attacked was a relative, who lett dog out by accident. Hard to believe all those people in Detroit and the best they could do was broom and plastic garbage can. Yeah like there's no guns in Detroit. Mailman didn't even have peeper spray? A broom stick, a car horn and a plastic garbage can...neither fazed him. 1

Anler
I've kinda changed my mind about pit bulls over the years. Was a time I despised them. I have a friend who is a professional dog trainer and he always maintained that the breed wasn't inherently aggressive. I now have several friends and relatives with pit bull and pit mix rescue dogs as pets and they are loving family pets. Really good dogs. So I am convinced it is the owners that are the assholes. 2

I would never own one just for the fact that there is such a stigma around them. Pits tend to be abused, inbred, and owned by idiots. Animals are animals, and all will bite or can be unpredictable. The only difference with pits is they have the girth to inflict a lot of damage. You don’t hear about all the people who are bit by little dogs on the news.

Yes and no. Dogs are individual and have personalities. I love dogs, but recognize there are bad dogs or dogs improperly socialized. It doesn’t take long to figure out what kind of dog you’re dealing with. Dog like that needs a bullet. Stat.

That's the thing with pitbulls, it's like it is in their DNA and no matter how well their raised, they can turn on a dime. I personally despise them and would never think of owning one even if I was able to raise it right after it was able to leave its mother. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/apr/23/pit-bull-kills-newborn-baby-in-bed Raised from a pup: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2018/05/30/pet-dog-kills-florida-baby/656666002/ https://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/florida-newborn-dies-after-attack-by-pit-bull-in-her-crib-20181119/ https://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/broward/miramar/fl-sb-911-miramar-baby-pitbull-20180607-story.html Edited February 25, 2019 by irv
Snoslinger
I don't buy the notion it’s all in how they’re raised. IMO these dogs have an instinct like most others do not have, and sometimes it can be controlled, but its still there. A lot of dog breeds don’t have that same instinct. There is no way in hell you could get some breeds to attack to kill, no matter how hard you tried. A colleague I work with got a pit bull from a shelter, and has two young kids at home. I think the dude is nuts for even taking the chance. Edited February 25, 2019 by Snoslinger

I have never even heard him bark, much less growl. Guy came to buy his car this weekend and dog went nuts. Did not like this guy at all. We have little dog now, but I still watch her like a hawk around little ones, you just never know when an animal will feel threatened and bite. 1
Platinum Contributing Member Skidooski Posted February 25, 2019 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted February 25, 2019 The McCoy AmStaff was the best dog I ever had until I got my current pup and I probably wouldn't hesitate to get one again if I knew the dogs lineage. Even had a Rottweiler / Chow / Akita mix at one point.

She and her husband got a pit puppy out of this litter from a friend. I asked her if she'd be okay with having a pet tiger shark as she has an 8 y/o girl and 11 y/o boy. It turned on the kids by the time it was a year old. It was never treated poorly and was inside with the family all the time. Her husband was fine with taking it out back and shooting it. They took it to the vet and had it euthanized. She's over the "pits are good" bullshit now.
